Configuration

The confocal Raman microscope Confotec® Duo is a compact instrument which uses two integrated lasers (532 nm and 785 nm with an optical isolator) with the telescopes and a dual-channel imaging spectrometer.

A sample under investigation is lighted by the light emitting diode source. The integrated video camera allows to observe a sample and direct laser radiation to the area of interest much more accurately.

An automated stage is used to select the research area of interest and for 2D mapping. For a two-laser input of radiation, a patented method based on modern developments in optics has been applied instead of the traditional mirror (beam combiner), which combines laser beams and causes energy loss.

Assured reliability

When operating Confotec® Duo, a user is not distracted by preparation of the instrument for research as well as its maintenance. The absence of movable elements in the instrument and the automatic spectral calibration ensures long-term stability of the instrument and reproducibility of measurement results.

Operation of the instrument is limited by installation of a sample for analysis and selection of the area of interest. In the process of operation a user is assisted by a smooth adjustment of the laser power.

Features

  • the use of a new type low-noise detector, which is characterized by a high signal-to-noise ratio and allows measurements to be made without low temperature cooling;
  • operation in low-frequency range.
